About the PROJECT
New England Sports Arena Cycling, Events & Entertainment Center will be a world-class indoor velodrome, cycling facility and multi-use Special Events Center. This leading-edge facility will be a site for local Intercollegiate National and International cycling competitions and other local sports and activities.
MULTI-USE FACILITY
The first World Class indoor cycling facility and multi-use special events center in New England.
The NESA Velodrome will feature a 200-meter world-class oval banked wooden track with 2,500 permanent spectator seats. The New England Sports Arena will be HQ for the Connecticut Nor’easters’ TeamTrak team and will offer a thrilling, fast, but safe experience for local, intercollegiate, national and international cycling competition. NESA will also include a sports performance center, sky boxes for corporate sponsors and donors, a full service bar and restaurant, leasable retail space and 20,000 sq/ft of flexible infield space to host concerts and a variety of non-cycling sporting and special events. Plans include an indoor BMX and skate park on site.

The Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation founded to support the development of NESA: the New England Sports Arena Cycling, Events, & Entertainment Center and the sport of track cycling for the benefit of youth, amateur and collegiate cyclists and the community of Greater New Haven, CT.

Our FOUNDERS
Rick Mayer
Founder, Cycle Haven
Rick Mayer has spent three decades as a business executive, entrepreneur, investor and philanthropist. His diverse business career includes working in finance at Morgan Guarantee Trust; running scrap steel, shipping and oil refining businesses in Barbados, Turks & Caicos, Belize and Costa Rica; and managing an international trade and investment development program in Yemen, Guatemala and Panama.
Throughout his career he has been an advisor and private equity investor in a variety of businesses including bio fuels, high tech irrigation systems, internet media, entertainment and sports. Rick is president of the MFUNd Inc., a family philanthropic foundation devoted to the task of creating a healthier and less toxic world through the support of sustainable food systems. Rick is founder and president of Cycle Haven, a Connecticut based non-profit focused on developing the New England Sports Arena, an indoor velodrome and sports complex being planned for the greater New Haven area. Mayer is a graduate of Yale University and a lifelong cyclist. As the initial financial backer of World Cycling Ltd and the TeamTrak Cycling League, Rick is dedicated to expanding the benefits of cycling to a wider audience in the U.S. and around the world.
